A post-secondary education is a great investment.

Of course you'd expect the president of SAIT to say that but don't just take my word for it, a recent report from the TD bank concludes,"...there is every reason to believe that investment in education remains the single best investment that a person can make. It raises your marketability in the current labour market; and, for the vast majority of individuals, it opens the door to a higher standard of living over their lifetime."

I am pleased to tell you that a SAIT education is resulting in personal success for the vast majority of our students. In 2010 they experienced 93 percent employment. Their individual success translates into success for all of society because their accomplishments mean they are meeting industry's need for highly skilled workers. Their entry into the workforce keeps Alberta's economy healthy. Experts predict that the need will continue to grow as a generation of highly-skilled baby boomers retires.

Our new Trades and Technology Complex will give us the ability to accommodate thousands of new students in the coming years so they can achieve their goal of a post-secondary education that will prepare them for future success. We are in the next phase of our Campaign intended to ensure SAIT will provide those students with the best tools and technology for their education. We also aim to improve and expand our curricula so students are at the top of their game when they graduate. And, more students means there will also be a growing need for more scholarships and bursaries to contribute to our students' success.
